In preparation for submission to the New Jersey Department of Education, the Lenape Regional High School District (LRHSD) Board of Education released the preliminary 2024-2025 school year budget.

Dr. Birnbohm and Cherokee Students Speak at NJ Senate Budget Hearing
Dr. Carol Birnbohm spoke at the NJ Senate Budget and Appropriations Budget Hearing on Tuesday, March 19 at NJIT in Newark, NJ. Dr. Birnbohm was joined by two 12th grade students, Samuel Levin and Daniel Leonard, of Cherokee High School.

Lenape Regional's finances have a "canyon-sized hole" after its aid plunged by $4.7 million, or 20 percent.

With this unprecedented reduction in state aid in one year, this canyon-sized hole demands that we reevaluate our plans and make deeper cuts that will inevitably impact programs and staffing.

Defy the Issue

The mission of Defy the Issue as a community coalition involving Evesham, Medford, Medford Lakes, Mount Laurel, Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle and Woodland is to educate families and residents of all ages about the dangers of illegal drug and alcohol use and to provide support for young people by empowering them to DEFY the pressures of drug and alcohol use. This will be accomplished through:
- A marketing campaign demonstrating solidarity for Defy the Issue
- Education, outreach and support for families
- Community awareness soliciting sponsorship and support for Defy the Issue from all stakeholders
