Marching Band Group 2 Open State Champions
 
Lenape Marching Band
 
Lenape High School's Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Steve Waldron, was recognized by the Board of Education for winning the 2016 USBANDS Group 2 Open State Championship. In addition to winning the overall championship, the band also took home the Best Overall Effect and Best Visual Awards. The band won this title for the third consecutive year and it's their 7th win in the last 8 years.

* The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $1000 for Shawnee's Principal's At Risk Fund from James & Anne Marie Komas.
 
* The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $500 for Shawnee's Television Club from James & Anne Marie Komas.
 
* The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $500 for Shawnee's Kids for Wish Kids Club from James & Anne Marie Komas.
 
* The Board of Education approved the monetary donation of $150 for Shawnee's Choral Department from Johnson's Farm.

Numerous other requests for approval of student activities and education items were approved by the Board of Education. These approvals are reflected in the formal minutes of the meeting which are available in the office of the Board of Education secretary.
 
The next Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, February 15th at 7:30 p.m. at the Lenape District Administration Building in Shamong.
