Heads Up, Eyes Forward!

 HUEF

Lenape District Broadcast Technician DJ Deeney presented the Heads Up, Eyes Forward! distracted driving campaign created by Lenape District Television (LDTV) Option 2 students. The students present at the board meeting were Scott Buck (Lenape), Bryan Kelly (Cherokee), Guinevere Pepe (Cherokee), Sean Kelly (Cherokee), Samantha Goldstein (Lenape), Michael Moroski (Lenape) and Alex Hatoff (Lenape). The LDTV Option 2 students recently won for the fifth time in six years at the U Got Brains Champion Schools Showcase.

The program challenges high schools throughout New Jersey to develop teen driving safety programs for their schools.  Of the 59 schools that competed in this year's program, the Lenape District was one of three grand prize winners of a driving simulator to help safely prepare new drivers for the road.

Highlights of the Lenape District's winning campaign included a proclamation by six townships across Burlington County declaring April 25 as "Heads Up, Eyes Forward! Day." The campaign also spread the message at the 2016 Philadelphia International Auto Show with their booth display of interactive games and demos.  To learn more about the Heads Up, Eyes Forward! safe-driving campaign, please visit www.lrhsd.org/HeadsUp.
